Morgoth - Feel Sorry For The Fanatic (CD)

Release Date: 05/12/23

rerelease of the genre breaking and timeless 3rd longplayer of former german Death Metal forefathers! Simply ahead of their time!

When the third album of the German death metal pioneers Morgoth was released in 1996, several pyres were figuratively lit under the band. On 'Sorry For The Fanatic', Morgoth dared to break out of the death metal genre - and this at a time when the death metal wave of the nineties had not even reached its peak. Several genre greats of that time were to follow a similar path years later - and so one has to ask oneself 27 years later: Were Morgoth simply ahead of their time?

Looking back, one thing has to be said: 'Sorry For The Fanatic' is an almost timeless album, which would find its fans and friends even in 2023. Frontgrowler Marc Grewe showed himself from an unusual side with a vocal versatility that he probably only surpasses in the current Deimos' Dawn album 'Anthem Of The Lost'.

Musically, the band experimented on 'Feel Sorry...' between thrash and dark alternative rock and created a melodic and dramatic album, but unfortunately disappeared from the scene afterwards. Unjustly, as the re-release of the hardly still available album proves.
